If there is one thing that stresses you out about traveling, it might be waiting in the long lines. Long lines at the airport are nothing new, but you can skip the lines by following these tips.
Sign Up for TSA PreCheck
If you fly frequently and have not signed up for the Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck program, you are missing out and standing in long lines that you might not have to stand in. If you get approved for this program, you can go through a different line and avoid taking your shoes off when you go through security. Plus, you can even bring liquids in your carry-on bag, as long as they are 3.4 ounces or less. You do have to pay a fee, but your TSA PreCheck will last for five years, and you can use it at more than 200 airports across the United States.
Use the CLEAR Technology
More than two dozen airports in the United States have CLEAR technology, which is biometrics-based. If you are flying at an airport that has this technology, you will be able to skip the line to have your ID scanned and will immediately be able to head into the TSA PreCheck line. There is a monthly fee that you have to pay, however, and you must already have TSA PreCheck.
Use an Airport Concierge
You might use your hotel concierge when you travel to help you with things like booking show tickets, making arrangements for transportation and making reservations for dinner. Even though you might find all of these things to be useful, you might have never thought about hiring an airport concierge. In fact, you might have never heard of an airport concierge service.
This type of service often involves having someone meet you when you arrive at the airport. Then, you’ll have someone who knows their way around that particular airport to help you get around. In some cases, you can even get brought to the front of the line, depending on the policy of that airport. Some luxury services even have luxurious waiting areas that you can wait in.
You don’t have to deal with long lines at the airport. Follow these tips, and you can travel like a smart traveler.
